
I am an occupational therapist working at a school for blind children. I have had the good fortune to be working at the same school for over fifteen years, which gives me the unique opportunity to help our kids reach their potential as they grow up. When I was little I had my own personal experience with visual impairment and ever since then I knew that working in the field of low vision was my calling.
Ever since I can remember I was obsessed with the written word. I was born wired for reading and writing. I remember telling little stories that my mother would write down in a blank book and we would then read them together as we snacked on apple slices. My favorite gift I received as a young girl was a purple typewriter. As my writing has evolved, I have found that exploring other creative art forms has the added benefit of helping my thought process.
